Bloggers, Go Forth and Be Green -- Week 20

As I sit here blogging my heart out about my ongoing green adventures in 52 Ways to go Green, Get Lean or Die Trying, apparently I’ve been creating a bit of a carbon footprint (whoops).

co2 neutral coupons attractive shopping offers with kaufDA.de It’s a catch 22 you see, I want to spread the word about easy green living, but in doing so, I’m generating 8 pounds of carbon a year.  So what is a passionate blogger to do, especially a passionate green blogger?

Well, the answer my friends is not blowing in the wind (which would be very green), but rather it’s in a blog by Krafty Kitten.  It was a badge on her site that read "My Blog is Carbon Neutral" that first piqued my interest.  One click on the badge brought me to a program called 1 Blog, 1 Tree.  Let me start by saying, that unless you speak fluent German, you should use the link above to get to this site.  But no matter what language you speak or what part of the world you live in, we can all understand the importance of trees!

Here is the bottom line for bloggers

Given that a tree lives around 50 years, I think I’m covered for the remainder of my blogging days.  All I have to do now is submit this blog, that talks about the program, to CO2 This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and they will plant a tree for my blog in some forest in California (I wonder why not Germany?).  So, as of post date of this blog, I too, can proudly wear the badge of carbon neutrality.  If you follow a favorite blog, I hope you pass along this blog to them so we can keep the message growing--along with millions of new trees!
