do green | feel good

We Are Big Green Head!

This monster is on a mission to change your perception about going green. It’s not difficult, nor is it costly... in fact we think it's pretty cool. Start doing green and feeling good. Have you got something better to do?

Green Beans

Top Ten Things I Like about Green Beans:

1. Eating them – fresh and raw, or steamed, with a dollop of butter on top.
2. Picking them –racing to the end of the row, watching the basket fill.
olney friends 3. Snapping them – while chatting with friends.
4. Reciting their names – Strike, rattlesnake pole, yellow French wax, haricot vert, burgundy.
5. Knowing they enrich the soil – they add nitrogen, while most other vegetables do not.
6. Watching them disappear at meals – they’re popular with the teens at our boarding high school.
7. Savoring their nutritional profile – protein, vitamin K, vitamin C, manganese…. (I could go on.)
8. The color – I love bein’ green!
9. Watching the freezers fill up with 80 gallons of green beans, enough to serve 18 meals.
10. Eating 100% of our own green beans at Olney Friends School in 2011-2012.
