WHO IS BIG GREEN HEAD?
This monster is on a mission to change your perception about going green. It’s not difficult, nor is it costly... in fact he thinks it's pretty cool. Learn how he was created here.
WHAT DOES BIG GREEN HEAD DO?
Big Green Head provides information, education and opportunity for people to “do” green. Here’s how:
Website
The hub of Big Green Head can be found at his website, www.BigGreenHead.com. It offers fun and helpful content regarding upcoming E-Waste Drop-Off events, Green Musings, fresh blogs, and helps visitors answer the question, “Where do I start going green?”
Coordinates a green community festival
Big Green Head coordinates his own eco-event, Green on the Green, which provides visitors with a sampling of ways they can “go green”. Whether it’s buying something made from re-purposed or recycled items, learning to appreciate native plants and animals, or educating people on how to use less energy, produce less waste or adopt sustainable practices. His objective is to demonstrate that being a steward of the community and environment can be fun, interesting and even cost effective.
Coordinates community electronic recycling drives
Our E-Waste Drop-Off program is a one-day electronic recycling event offered several times a year. Each event allows residents the opportunity to conveniently and responsibly dispose of obsolete, unwanted and broken electronics, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. The program was created with three (3) goals:
- Educate people on the growing problem of e-waste (the fastest growing segment of our nation’s trash).
- Provide them with a convenient method to responsibly dispose of e-waste.
- Ensure that collected items are handled in an environmentally-responsible manner.
Fun and Friendly Mascot
It’s hard to miss this quirky green monster as he steps out at community festivals, schools and the like. Just the sight of him encourages green behavior in a fun, friendly fashion!
