The growth of this year’s event brought live music to the NW Green. Vistiors could be found sitting in the grass listening to live performances from four local bands: Columbus Priority Mail, Hawkline, The Song Birds, and Old Worlds.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a festival without food! This year we added more food: Earth’s Crust, Veggielicious, The Hungry Hound, and Fusion Café, as well as homemade kettle corn and lemonade.
Thomas Worthington High School (TWHS) students set up a bike coral, allowing ample bike parking for a small monetary donation. This not only raised money for the high school, but awareness to biking as an alternative means of transportation.
Right down the road from the festivities, TWHS athletes assisted Environmental Reclaim in unloading countless cars filled with old electronics. Green on the Green offered FREE electronic recycling this year, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the TWHS Turf Project.
Big Green Head is already looking forward to the 3rd Annual Green on the Green on Saturday, May 19th 2012. We hope to see you there for another day of green fun for the whole family!
