Natural Cleaners

Baking Soda – makes a great all-purpose, non-toxic cleaner. It cleans, deodorizes, scours, polishes and removes stains.

Borax – deodorizes, removes stains, boosts the cleaning power of soap, and prevents mold and odors - a great alternative to bleach.

Cornstarch – cleans and deodorizes carpets and rugs and can be used in place of baby powder.

Ketchup – cleans copper.

Lemon juice – whitens and removes grease and stains on aluminum and porcelain.

Pure Soap – mildly cleans most things.

Salt – regular table salt makes an abrasive but gentle scouring powder.

Washing Soda (or soda ash) – cuts grease and disinfects. Washing Soda can normally be found in the laundry and cleaning aisles. If you have trouble finding it locally, call Arm & Hammer at 1-800-524-1328 for $3.99/box, free shipping if you order more than one box.)

White Vinegar – whitens, cleans hard surfaces and windows, shines metal surfaces, and removes mildew, stains, grease, and wax buildup.
